CHILDREN
Paediatric drugs are stated as weight-based dosing except where specifically noted. Some drugs are not recommended for use in children and this is indicated accordingly. The NZ Formulary for Children is the free paediatric-specific database of prescription drugs available in NZ. It is accessible from the button below.

Metric units are used throughout the drug manual including temperature (stated in degrees Celsius/Centigrade).
Dosage is stated for adults with normal renal and hepatic function unless otherwise specified.
The following abbreviations are used:
BD Twice Daily: administer stated dose every 12 hours
TDS Three Times Daily: administer stated dose every 8 hours
QID Four Times Daily: administer stated dose every 6 hours
All other frequencies stated as duration between doses in minutes, hours or days
